What, When, Where, Why?

What are my plans?

Well I have several different options ahead of me. Each option takes a different amount of time and money, and therefore I need to look at all of them and do the ones I have time for and can afford.

1. Habitat for Humanity - International Volunteer Program: Possibly volunteer for six months in Costa Rica or possibly Argentina. My job would be a volunteer coordinator or planning the construction of new houses. The monthly cost to volunteer here, including housing, food, and spending money, is 550/mo. This is very reasonable and for that reason this is the program I am hoping to do.

2. Habitat for Humanity Puerto Rico - This assignment would be a temporary assignment in Puerto Rico. I may take two weeks of a Spanish immersion class, and then while in Puerto Rico, help build a house for the local Habitat chapter.

3. Aldea Yanapay - Tutoring Needy Children - This is non-profit organization in Cusco, Peru that sponsors before and after school tutoring for kids. The organization also has a hostel there for volunteers and is very reasonable. The program is very flexible and would allow me to volunteer there for however long I can.

4. Teach in Costa Rica - In this program I would spend June through mid August in rural Costa Rica teaching english to primary school kids. The program is put toegether by World Teach, a non-profit organization within Harvard University. This program is expensive, but all the details are covered. Room and board is taken care of, in addition to travel insurance, logisitics, etc. Roughly $4000 for this program.

This is what I have on my plate! I need to narrow that list down, but I am going to wait and see what God has planned for me in the next few weeks.
